But what do you do?

People often ask me what I do when I consult. It’s a fair question. At its core, my work is about helping businesses define who they are: their mission, vision, and values. But what I am most passionate about is helping them figure out how to live those things out in a way that feels authentic and actionable.

Because here’s the thing: A beautifully crafted mission statement is only as good as the actions that support it. A company’s vision should never be a vague, aspirational idea that sits on a website untouched. It should be something that, if someone asked, “How do you bring this to life?” you’d have a clear and compelling answer, that hopefully anyone in your company can answer.

And yet, too often, I see businesses hesitate when that question comes up. They might say, Well, we’re still working on that or It’s something we’re striving for… or my least favorite, it’s in our 10 year plan. TEN YEARS?! That hesitation is a missed opportunity, because if you’ve decided on a mission, if you’ve put a stake in the ground about what you believe the world needs, then you should also have a way to show up in that mission every single day.

That’s where my work goes beyond just helping companies define their purpose. I help them create real plans, structures, and systems that make their mission actionable. But there’s another key piece: telling the story of how they live it out.

The Power (and Challenge) of Storytelling

Even when a company is doing all the right things, aligning their actions with their values, making intentional choices about how they show up for their customers, employees, and community—there’s often a missing link: How do you tell that story?

For many businesses, storytelling is the hardest part of communicating their purpose. They’re so focused on doing the work that they struggle to explain why it matters or how it all connects back to their mission. But in today’s world, where people crave authenticity and alignment, a company’s story is just as important as its actions.

It’s not enough to say, We value innovation, community, or sustainability. You need to be able to show what that looks like in real time. How does it shape your decisions? How does it impact your customers? How do people experience it in a way that makes them believe in what you do?

When I work with businesses, my goal is to support them bridging this gap. I help them sift through all the moving parts. The day-to-day operations, the customer interactions, the internal culture, and find the stories that make their mission real. Because the best brands don’t just tell people what they stand for; they show them through their actions and the way they talk about those actions.

How I Help Businesses Bring Their Mission to Life

I work with companies to:

Define or refine their mission, vision, and values so they are clear, actionable, and aligned with their purpose.

Develop strategies and structures that ensure those values are lived out in daily operations, customer interactions, and decision-making.

Find and craft their brand story—so they can clearly articulate how they show up in their mission and make it meaningful to their audience.

Create messaging and content strategies that help them communicate their purpose across platforms, from websites to social media to internal culture.

Provide coaching and guidance on how to confidently answer the question, How do you live out your mission?

Public Relations to tell these stories on social media and through press releases.
